A 50-minute session for an in-person, Telehealth or phone appointment is $260.

This cost may be partially covered through the Medicare system, private health insurance or WorkCover.

The Medicare rebate with a clinical psychologist for all types of appointments is $137.50. So the out-of-pocket cost would be $122.50.

To access Medicare funds, you need a referral from a GP. However, if you are ineligible for a Medicare rebate or you do not wish to get a GP referral, this step is not necessary.

The rebate available from private health insurance is based on your policy, so you should clarify with your insurance company.

If your consultation is in relation to a WorkCover claim, you may also be eligible for a rebate and again, should seek clarification with your provider.

If you have an NDIS plan and have funding to receive allied health services for a psychologist, NDIA may reimburse you. You should obtain information about this from NDIA.

Sun Inside Psychology will send a tax invoice re your payment, which you can use to claim any available rebates.
