ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, affects how people behave, work, study and interact with others. Those dealing with ADHD find it hard to focus and are often easily distracted, are impulsive and/or have difficulty sitting still. They also often procrastinate to avoid completing tasks that require mental energy. They may struggle with time management, being late to school or work or forgetting appointments.

A treatment plan may involve using medication, joining educational programs, managing behaviour, seeking psychological counselling, and receiving family support.

The approach to ADHD treatment can be customised for each person. While medication works quickly and helps manage ADHD symptoms, relying solely on medicine might not be the ideal solution. Typically, non-medication methods are combined with medications to treat ADHD.

Seeking counselling is highly effective in improving your daily functioning and improving your mental health and well-being.

At Sun Inside, your therapist will work with you to get the most out of your ADHD management plan, whether you choose medication or prefer a non-medication approach.
